top: workfile... thats what i get when i open a lineart file.
middle: the colour layer... everything i do is in a single, except for the sfx.(glows smoke and stuff) remember.. the less layers.. the better.
bottom: final file.

art by Paco Medina, Juan Vlasco and Marte Gracia.

Wow, that looks wonderful! The second part is so wonderful that it's nearly complete as a standalone piece, sans some detail... very impressive. Do you use the lasso tool?

Fantastic as usual man! That second stage is an art piece in itself. Looks like a traditional painting! :#1:

I'm with the popular concensus on this one: I like the dig. painting better than the painting w/ ink overlay.

This is one awesome page, both lineart and colour. And it's interesting to see the different steps. In a weird way I think the one with the colour but without the lineart looks best. It looks like a painting. Great work, as always MarteGod!

wow! the colors themselves bring out medina's art. your work is always impressive, but this really blew me away. it'd be sweet to see a book done completely in your coloring style without the line art.

quouted from my reply to the nass

".... mostly because of filesize.. imagine having this doule spread at 400dpi with 10 layers in it...
and if you have less layers it means you have more control and confidence over your colour choices.
you have to push yourself to make it right in the first time :D....."

i like using loads of layers for the flats... and it's not as nearly as precise as your work.

ever thought of making a technical tute on colors? The bong one really helped :P

I love seeing works like this! When a colorist can pull the inks off a piece and the work still looks beautiful(despite a few little snags that inks would cover up), then that's the sign of a colorist that knows what he/she is doing.
BEAUTIFUL work, man : D.
